I don't think so. Not outside of any discussion around ventures west.

I was hoping there was more “there”. Maybe something on RTOs (the OG SPAC) or Vancouver Stock Exchange.

I am originally from the prairies so the government sponsored funds was triggering. We had labour funds. The launches were “amazing”. Needless to say they did not turn out well.

The Capital Pools for tech were mostly a Ventures West invention. So they'd be in that. That mechanism was primarily ignored in Central Canada and was only brought here in 99/00. Or so, and never caught on in any real way. There was the Yorkton public venture capital stuff, but that was mostly done out of Toronto... It'll get covered in the Ontario Section I'm outlining now. TBH, BC has, outside of pharma (which isn't my background), been a story of using similar plans as Quebec on the LP front and changing it every time a government changes. (renaissance/BCTech/inBC etc).

Right on. I am pretty ignorant of anything going on in Vancouver before 2008 when i started getting exposed to venture, startups and what not.

Did you title your post in a way that maximizes SEO for "Real Venture(s)"? JK! ;-)
